Usually, if you go to their corporate websites, there will be a section
about giving or something.
I would note that my experience is that by this time of year, they've
earmarked stuff already and they may be asked out with everything else, but
they can only say no and it's good publicity if they say yes.

I don't know if you have any experience with this, but my Mayor keeps
suggesting that I ask the local dollar store and Walmart to donate prizes
for Summer Reading. But I've never done that before, so I don't know how to
go about it. Do I just call them or send an email? Visit in person? Just any
suggestions you have about it would be really helpful.
