No Strings Theatre Company presents HOME, written by British playwright, David Storey and directed by NSTC's Artistic Director, Ceil Herman. HOME opens at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N. Main Street in Las Cruces on March 1, and runs through Sunday, March 17.

The play, written in 1970, is set in a lovely garden, and two well dressed gentlemen enter. Harry (Nick Heeb) and Jack (Danny Wade) begin by making polite conversation with each other. They seem to be friends, and although their conversation is witty, the subject matter wanders and the respective backgrounds of the men are unclear. Is Harry unemployed or is he a heating engineer? Is his wife coming to visit or are they separated? Is Jack a medical school drop-out or a successful producer of packaged jam?

As the men depart, two new characters appear. Marjorie (Sandra Williams) is helping her friend Kathleen (Jamie Bronstein) walk as Kathleen's feet are hurt. These two women seem to know each other better than the men do. Their conversation is both charming and absurd and more background information is slowly revealed. An additional character, Alfred (Bob Alvarez) enters in the second act. Alfred, known by the two women, is more interested in moving the furniture on the set around rather than interacting with the other characters. More questions are raised as the play progresses and the audience has the enjoyment of putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

Scenic and Lighting Design for the production is by Peter Herman and Costume Design is by Autumn Gieb. Board Operators for the production are Charley and Penny Bevers. Performances are Fridays and Saturday at 8:00 p.m., Sunday matinees on March 10 and March 17 at 2:30 p.m., and a Thursday eveningperformance on March 14 at 7:00p.m.
