Youth Services News FYI: SRP22 Librarian and Parent/Caregiver Surveys

Good morning youth services staff,

In preparation for many of your summer reading programs starting next week, below is some important information as well as links to access the Librarian Survey and the Parent/Caregiver Survey for SRP22.


Librarian Survey


  *   This is the survey that only ONE staff person from your library will complete at the end of your summer reading program to be eligible for a SRP23 voucher.

‒       Librarian survey link: https://forms.gle/Nw4YT4fjheXFZdoRA

‒       Once submitted, the person will receive a “Thank you for completing the librarian survey!...” message.



  *   If your library is not having a summer reading program this year, that’s okay, but the Librarian Survey must still be completed to be eligible for a SRP23 voucher. Just answer the question, Did your library conduct some sort of Summer Reading Program this year?  with No.

‒       Answering No then takes you to a few questions to answer. Answering those few questions will suffice for being eligible for a SRP23 voucher.



  *   Please note, if a Librarian Survey is not submitted, your library will not receive a SRP23 voucher.



  *   The deadline to complete and submit the Librarian Survey is August 31, 2022.



Parent/Caregiver Survey


  *   These surveys are for the parents/caregivers to complete and are about the impact the summer reading program has had on their child(ren).



  *   This survey is voluntary, but highly recommended.



  *   The information gathered with these surveys is incredibly important for the report we give to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), which funds the program.


  *   Attached are PDFs of both the English and Spanish surveys for you to print if necessary.

o   Please note, if a parent/caregiver chooses to complete a paper survey, a library staff member must then enter their answers into the online form.


  *   The deadline to complete and submit the Parent/Caregiver Survey is August 31, 2022.

NOTE:  Feel free to send pictures and a short narrative of any summer reading programs you want featured on the Hitchhiker<https://hitchhiker.nmstatelibrary.org/>. This includes any programs you want to promote to a wider audience!
