I'm a past president of the Ohio Library Council and the former Chapter Councilor to ALA from Ohio, so I know how helpful state association leaders can be in disseminating information to librarians in their state. I'm contacting you because there is a great opportunity for public librarians to receive free training on leading STEAM programs in their libraries. (I found your contact information on the NMLA website.)



The program is being offered by the Public Library Innovation Exchange (PLIX), which is a is a Knight Foundation<https://knightfoundation.org/>-funded grant project to build collaborations between the Media Lab researchers at MIT and public libraries across the US. The project has three components, one of which is to offer online events. My library has collaborated with PLIX and the Media Lab in the past, and the experiences have been great! I'm now an advisor to the program. I'm hoping you can share the following invitation with public library staff in New Mexico. Currently, there are no registrants from New Mexico; PLIX staff would love to have at least one person from each state. Current registration stands at 330. PLIX staff are very interested in having as full a representation of the range and depth of the public library field as possible, with as much diversity as possible.
