Subject: [EXTERNAL] Opportunity for Indigenous Youth Interested in Climate Resiliency & Request to Promote Program

[cid:ii_18cf159e6cac457f4991]

Businesses for Conservation & Climate Action (BCCA) and the American Sustainable Business Network are excited to announce a remarkable opportunity for Indigenous youth aged 18-30 in the United States to contribute to the fight against climate change through the Indigenous Youth Climate Resiliency Through Public Policy Program; and we hope that you’re willing to help!

Program Overview: The Indigenous Youth Climate Resiliency Through Public Policy Program is a 13-week initiative designed to empower young Indigenous individuals to lead and drive change through policy advocacy. This program offers a series of engaging virtual workshops that accommodate your schedule, focusing on topics such as understanding the national impact of climate change, crafting influential policy projects, and building effective coalitions. We have also invited renowned guest speakers to enrich your understanding and provide unique insights.

Important Dates:

• Applications Open: Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 5 PM CST

• Applications Close: Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:59 PM HST

• Acceptance Notifications: Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 2 PM CST

• Accept Invitation: Monday, January 22, 2024, at 2 PM CST

• Program Starts: January 23, 2023 (6-8 PM CST)

Program Highlights: By participating in this program, young Indigenous leaders will have the opportunity to:

• Develop a game-changing policy project addressing a climate change issue close to their hearts.

• Gain the confidence and skills to present their initiatives to policymakers at their chosen government level.

• Build a supportive community of like-minded individuals dedicated to shaping policy initiatives before presenting them to policymakers.

Rewards: Participants' hard work will be recognized with a certificate from the Businesses for Conservation and Climate Action (BCCA), showcasing their expertise in climate resilience policy. Additionally, an all-expense-paid trip to Washington D.C. awaits them, providing a unique opportunity to meet with congressional representatives, community leaders, foundations, businesses, and government agencies to champion their initiatives and amplify their advocacy.

How You Can Help: We kindly request your support in spreading the word about this incredible opportunity to your members and interested parties. We have attached a flyer to this email, which you can share on your organization's platforms and newsletters.
