Sometimes, it depends on the ILS you are using. The NN Library uses SirsiDynix and cataloging is done through the WorkFlows system that is built with Sirsi. Through the process, there’s what’s called SmartPort, that will automatically populate the metadata and information, so that takes the guess work out of it all. If you are looking at original cataloging, then that might be LC cataloging or some First Nations groups have begun to cataloging in their own knowledge systems too. The State does use Niche Academy and have a variety of cataloging courses too. Something Cassandra might be able to set you up with.

Good afternoon Tribal Librarians,

I have a question regarding cataloging.

What FREE service do you all use when cataloging?

The beginning of this year OCLC website was discontinued (for free use) and now they're requiring to pay a subscription to get access.

I'm wondering what sites you all use.
