Hello!

AILA has partnered with PBS & PBS Books to support the new film "The American Buffalo" and AILA members have the opportunity to receive a screening link to either showcase in-person or virtually. Please, fill out the link below to receive more information, the link you receive will be live until December 2023. There will be a PBS Buffalo booklist following along with a couple passive programming sheets. This has been a wonderful project to assist with and hope you are able to continue support through your library programming. This film is a great starting point for community conversations on American Indian past, present and future. Please, let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
Allison Waukau

WTTW/ PBS PRESENTS:
THE AMERICAN BUFFALO: A FILM by KEN BURNS
A SCREENER & DICUSSION ABOUT KEN BURNS' NEWEST FILM

THE AMERICAN BUFFALO is the dramatic story of how America’s national mammal, once numbering in the tens of millions and sustaining the Native people of the Great Plains for untold generations, was driven to the brink of extinction. But then an unlikely collection of people rescues it from disappearing forever. Ken Burns recounts the tragic collision of two opposing views of the natural world––and the unforgettable characters who pointed the nation in a different direction.
