Below and attached I am passing along a request from KOAT to participate in a book drive.

              Hello from Read to Me! Literacy Network
Dear Librarian,
Once again Read to Me! Literacy Network is the operations partner of the annual "KOAT Children's Book Drive".  We are a small group of volunteers dedicated to encouraging parents/caregivers to read to infants from the earliest possible moment.
Your optional participation as a drop-off location for donations of new or gently used children's books between July 10- 30th will be important to the success of this effort.  If you would like your library to participate as a collection site, please send a message to    bookdrive66 at gmail.com<mailto:bookdrive66 at gmail.com>.
After July 30th you will have the choice to:

  1.  distribute the donated books to nearby groups who support Early Childhood initiatives or any individuals who would like them.  Please keep a tally of how many books are given to whom.



  1.  Keep the books for use by your library.  Again, keep a tally for feedback to KOAT and Read to Me!



  1.  Send a message to us at Bookdrive66 at gmail.com<mailto:Bookdrive66 at gmail.com> to schedule a pick-up for the number of boxes of children's books waiting for us.
Once all the participating libraries have sent the email with their preference, Read to Me! will create a "best-effort" plan for what may well be statewide road trips.  If there is a certain urgency to pick up your books, please give us as much advance notice as possible.

KOAT does not bear the responsibility to make Pick-Up trips.
