Subject: Your Knowledge Needed! Dynamics of Public Library Service in New Mexico
Good Afternoon!
Did you work in a public library during the pandemic? We need your knowledge!
We are researching ways in which the pandemic has changed our libraries' approaches to meeting our communities' needs. What we learn will inform a Chapter we are submitting to a book called 'Reading' Workplace Dynamics: A Post-Pandemic Professional Ethos in Public Libraries. Our chapter is entitled 'Reading Resilience: Dynamics of Public Library Service in New Mexico.'"
In New Mexico, public and tribal libraries built partnerships that played a strong role in making the "community" feel more real to individual residents, creating access to resources through diverse social networks, and improving overall the ability of our communities to survive, adapt, and respond in a time of great need. Librarians now operate with fresh lessons learned and new tools for diversifying and leveraging the resources they need to support the resilience of their communities.
We are interested in hearing from YOU about your transformational experiences during the pandemic, and the changes and plans for your library that were generated by these pandemic experiences. Would you please take a few minutes to answer the survey questions at the link below? If you would, please consider also indicating that you would like to talk to us for 30 minutes on this subject via Zoom so we can further deepen our understanding. Thank you for taking time to share your story, and helping us highlight the amazing work New Mexican libraries do!
