Hi Teresa,

My sense is that question 16. pertains to your specific project rather than tribal libraries' needs more generally. You can certainly refer to the TEA report from 2021 (as well as E. Suina's assessment from 2020 and 2022 update, which she and Alana prepared for the Tribal Remedy Framework; unfortunately, it doesn't include detailed information for Santa Clara; see attached). But I would think that the subject matter expert referred to in Question 16 could be you and/or your tribal education director, or any other library or education professional you work with. Is your project included in a tribal plan (strategic, departmental, council resolution, or other)? That's the documentation I would attach.

Hi Cassandra, could you possibly send this question out to the tribal librarians? On question 16 on the Construction application the question is “has an evaluation for the proposed project been documented by a subject matter expert….” Attaching a report regarding needs of libraries, asking who we cite as the author of report and may we use this as the subject matter expert for our application?



Also a few years ago Ms. Elizabeth Suina, an Architect attended one of our convenings and we had  roundtable discussions on the need for the tribal libraries for new buildings or renovations. Does anyone have any background or notes or contact information for Elizabeth? We provided her the age of our  buildings, sizes and other info for construction needs.  If the above can’t be used , maybe we can all use her  info as she is a subject matter expert as well… thanks
