Good Morning Tribal Librarians!
The Children's Internet Protection Act (http://ifea.net/cipa.pdf) came up several times during our meeting last Friday, so I thought it might be helpful to provide a link to the ALA Filtering Guidelines:
(http://www.ala.org/advocacy/intfreedom/filtering/filtering_guidelines) and Internet Filtering Tips: (http://www.ala.org/advocacy/intfreedom/iftoolkits/litoolkit/internetusepolicies), along with some sample policies that you might want to consult if you do not yet have a policy in place to safeguard the children at your library: (https://www.statelibraryofiowa.org/ld/k-p/Policies - I realize that New Mexico is NOT Iowa, but the policies translate pretty well to most libraries). Filtering is required if you receive any funding via E-rate. I hope that you find this helpful. I'm sure that this is old news to many of you, but I thought it might be helpful to some of our newer librarians. Thank you and have a great week!
Best wishes,
Faye Hadley
