Good Afternoon, Tribal Librarians,
As I was going through boxes of old papers and other stuff, I came across the 2008 TRAILS Tribal Procedure Manual 3rd Edition, and I got to thinking "I wonder if they have updated this resource that looks like it might be valuable to Tribal Librarians." So I googled "TRAILS Tribal Procedure Manual" and voila, there is a 4th Edition which appeared as a draft in 2017. I want to caution you, I went through the newer edition and many of the links are broken. However, I have been assured by someone at the American Library Association that a team of volunteer Librarians is busy updating the 4th Edition. Because I often hear the feedback from Tribal Librarians that they would like more guidance or training in the field of librarianship, I am sending out the link to this publication: http://www.ala.org/aboutala/sites/ala.org.aboutala/files/content/diversity/TRAILS%20BETA%20MAY%202017.pdf. Since I wrote to the ALA to ask about an updated version and also to find out whether it was okay with to share this document others, they asked me to include this statement: "This document was shared with the expressed permission from the American Library Association." So now that that is out of the way, click on the link and enjoy a wealth of information regarding Tribal Libraries. Feedback on this resource would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
Best wishes,
Faye
