Hope you all are doing well and surviving your summer reading programs.  I can’t believe it’s already mid-July!

Regis is inviting NM Tribal Librarians to the APCG Indian Education Institute next week.  He would like us to convene so we can discuss HB 670 which is in relation to funding for tribal libraries. Please find attached the info regarding the APCG Indian Education Institute on July 22-24. I am depending on you to get as many of the tribal librarians to come so we can expand our HB670 for this next legislative session. I do not want to risk that we dod not do the necessary work for the expansive of our legislative initiative using the Yazzie findings as a vehicle. This is now a high priority by the legal team. Please let me know as soon as possible how many can attend and how many will need rooms.

Good Morning



I hope this email finds you well.  Beginning the week of Monday, July 22, 2019 through Wednesday, July 24, 2019, the Santa Fe Indian School Leadership Institute, All Pueblo Council of Governors, the All Pueblo Council of Governors Education Committee and the NM Public Education Department is convening a 2 1/2 day work session as a follow-up to the July 2018 Pueblo Convocation on Education.   Over the course of the 2 1/2 days, our goal is to collectively develop detailed policy, budget, governance and program recommendations on Education.



It is an important opportunity to contribute to the future of education for our communities, particularly as we prepare for the upcoming Legislative Session.   You were highly recommended to participate by a planning member.  We invite you to participate in this historic event to create an education plan for the future of our communities.  Many communities have existing successful plans that we hope will be shared during this time.



There has been a considerable amount of planning that has occurred over a short timeframe to put this gathering together.  After taking a look at the agenda and invitation letter, we hope that you will be able to make arrangements with your employer and/or family to participate in this professional development and community contribution opportunity.



We are thankful to the the WK Kellogg Foundation, New Mexico Public Education Department, LANL Foundation, and the Chamiza Foundation for supporting this gathering.



Attached is a letter of invite and a draft agenda for your review.  Please fill out the registration link below to participate.   We strongly recommend that you participate in the full 2 1/2 day workshop.  As a full 2 1/2  day participant, we will provide you with a room at the Santa Ana Star Casino and Hotel.  We have a limited number of rooms for this event so please only request a room if you plan to participate for the full 2 1/2 days. We have a limited number of rooms for this event so we encourage you to RSVP as soon as possible.
