Good morning SALSA consortium,

On Friday we signed a contract to move us from Innovative Polaris to SirsiDynix Symphony!
https://www.sirsidynix.com/symphony/

I have renewed Polaris for only 5 months, so we will cease to use it at the end of November. I renewed Equinox Koha for the full year and Brian renewed ByWater Koha for the full year, but we will have to cease work on those databases in early December, at the latest.

Now the priority is getting backup copies of our Polaris/Equinox/ByWater databases. This first fetch of backup data will form our Symphony test database. Brian, I'll send you copies of my requests so that you'll know what to ask of ByWater.

I will schedule a formal SALSA meeting soon, but at anytime you all are welcome to chat and visit in our Cataloging Café, Wednesdays at 2:30: https://zoom.us/j/93113523372?pwd=cmZxZ0lNaWlVOTlocytzQUJwTWlTZz09

We have our project manager, Brian Hutchings, and I will meet with him soon. Watch out-- here come buckets of details!

This has been an exhaustingly long procurement, beginning with my RFP training in July 2019. Thank you for your patience and especially for all of your ideas and questions and comments. And a special thank you to the Evaluation Committee: Cassandra Osterloh, Laura Calderone, Margaret Van Dyk, Joseph Angelo and Eli Guinnee.

Hurrah!
Brad
