[Nmsalsa] Polaris upgrade tomorrow

Hello SALSA,

Today be sure to carefully shut-down Polaris.  Three steps:

·         Log off (on the Polaris “Find” toolbar)

·         Exit (on the Find toolbar)

·         Disconnect (“Logoff Polaris Server” desktop shortcut)
Otherwise you might not reconnect to your printers after the upgrade.

Hello SALSA,

We will upgrade to Polaris 6.3 on Thursday the 19th.  Polaris will probably be unavailable all morning.  Joseph, please add to the staff calendar.

We will upgrade from 6.1.  I attached the What’s New for 6.2 and 6.3.  Mostly changes to circulation, ebooks, acquisitions…. Functions that we don’t much use.

We will get the latest MARC updates.  Templates for item record bulk changes.  PAC improvements related to horizontal scrolling and display of book cover images.  New gender options for patron registration!

Please let me know if you have questions or comments.

I will try to get us together soon – but December is filling up, so will try for January.
