No Strings Theatre Company announces AUDITIONS FOR Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar. 

Auditions will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 6:00 pm at the Black Box Theatre, 430 North Main Street in Las Cruces. The play is the first production of NSTC’s 2026-2027 Season. The entire season is listed on the NSTC website (www.no-strings.org). The play will open September 18 and run through October 4, 2026.

The role of Sugar is precast, but the roles for the humorous, sometimes poignant, essayists seeking advice and help are available. The script calls for 2 male and 1 female essayists, but additional actors may be cast. The perusal script will be available at the ASK HERE Desk at Branigan Library in Las Cruces starting Wednesday, July 29. 

The play is adapted from the self-help book by American author and podcaster Cheryl Strayed. Tiny Beautiful Things is a collection of essays compiled from Strayed's "Dear Sugar” advice column which she wrote anonymously, on The Rumpus, an online literary magazine. The columns focus as much on her literary memoir as they do on advice and self-help. The stage adaptation conceived by Nia Vardalos, Thomas Kail, and Marshall Heyman premiere at The Public Theatre in New York in December, 2016 to a sold out run.
