Our next play, The Revolutionists, opens Friday, March 10, and runs through Sunday, March 26. We really need House Managers! If you would like to help us out, please email or call us. A description of the play is below.

The Play: The Revolutionists by Lauren Gunderson. The Scene: Paris, The Reign of Terror, 1793. Might sound foreign, but get ready because this story is utterly relatable, funny, fast-paced,and hard-hitting. It’s a story that will ring true for the downtrodden, the rebels, and anyone who’s ever tried to write anything, anytime, ever.

Olympe de Gouges, prolific French playwright, is desperate to create something meaningful, something that’s not written from the ivory tower of privilege but from the trenches of real life. Things take a turn as a vast array of characters come tumbling in, from assassin Charlotte Corday to queen Marie Antoinette.

Questions come to the forefront like, what good is fiction when real tyranny is going on right in front of you? How does real change happen, and can art impel it? How will history remember us.

The Revolutionists is directed by Autumn Gieb and stars Brigitte Kearns, Lisa Taylor, Penny Bever and Karen Buerdsell. Costumes are by Melissa Munoz Chavez, Props are by Darlene DeMondo, Set Design is by Joshua Taulbee and Light Design is by Bekah Taulbee.

Tickets are now on sale for this funny, heart-string-pulling play at the Black Box Theatre in Las Cruces, New Mexico, located at 430 N. Main Street. Showing from March 10 - 26th. Call (575) 523-1223 or online at www.no-strings.org
