Most have probably already finished planning. We thought we were done with our preparations as well. Our library gets VERY limited budget for programs, so every year we keep it simple. I met with City Manager yesterday and it turns out he wants the library to plan and provide summer programming but at a different location (new community building) and on a grander scale. He has approved a bigger budget, but now I am at a loss on what programming we can have for our youth. Can any of you please share what kind of programs you have planned for summer. It doesn't matter if it does not tie in with the CSLP theme. We just need something that we can tweak to our community. Any and all ideas are welcome! I appreciate your assistance. They bring lots of specimens for the kids to look at and feel etc. We also will be taking a trip to the new fire station in Moriarty which is directly across the street from the library. They will get to walk around the station and trucks etc. I booked explora for a family science workshop where they bring a ton of exhibits for the kids to interact with. Outside of special programs, I do 3 weekly programs. Tuesdays are Builder's Club which is like a STEM program we build with legos, popsicle sticks, toothpicks and marshmallows etc. Wednesdays are Story-time and Craft- I do a Mother Goose on the Loose storytime and a simple craft in house. Thursdays are Teen Nights, I usually have snacks and a craft/activity and sometimes a board game to play. We had 4H come out and do some activities like macrame, last year and plan to have them out again this year. Hope this helps. These two sisters were her pilot group. Anderson Public Library We hosted our first two Kidbrarians today, sisters Maci and Maddie. They toured the library and met some of the staff, then they each helped select books for a book display. Stop by and check out some of their recommendations! Maci likes funny books, Wonder Woman, and pigs. Her favorite color is purple, and she might want to be a police officer when she grows up. Maddie also likes funny books, playing softball, and loves cows! Her favorite color is pink. They both enjoyed the petting zoo at last year's Summer at the Library kick-off party.
