The concert he did at our library was very fun-filled and interactive. He told fun stories in between songs that had the kids all laughing, and had lots of jokes and gags sprinkled throughout his performance. He was my favorite performer we had in the summer of 2023. Daniel Vandever Fee-based Book reading / Storytime https://www.facebook.com/DanielVandeverFanPage/ 505-240-4421 1458 W Flannery Pl., Tucson, AZ 85746 dwvandever at gmail.com Daniel is an award-winning children's book author and illustrator from New Mexico (although he now lives in Tucson, he still is back in NM fairly frequently). His two published books are Fall in Line, Holden and Herizon (winner of the 2022 AIYLA award for best picture book). When he visited our library, he led a highly interactive 40-minute book reading session in which he read and discussed his two books with the kids. He was very responsive, high-energy, and kept the kids' interest and attention so well. He also did a great job tying in cultural concepts and making them accessible to a young audience. I would highly recommend him for any NM library. Rick Stromoski Fee-based Drawing workshops https://rickstromoski.com/ 860-550-2391 569 North Main Street, Suffield, CT 06078 soup2nutz at cox.net Rick is a nationally syndicated cartoonist and, more recently, author of a juvenile graphic novel series called Schnozzer and Tatertoes (the second book in the series just came out). Because he is based in Connecticut, he offers drawing workshops via Zoom (although he said he was willing to come out to NM, it would just be more expensive to cover his travel expenses). While I was initially less excited about a Zoom workshop, it was so great - he had a whiteboard system that allowed him to draw and we could all see it on the projected screen. He was really interactive and did such a good job explaining how to draw. He offers workshops on different topics, but the one we did was "Let's Draw Animals" - and it was great. Rick also mailed each program participant a signed picture.
