Good morning all,
Sorry for cross sharing, hoping to reach everyone. Not sure if everyone has received this but I just though I'd share. Of course it comes with controversy, like most things do these days, but thught it was worth the share.

Dear Nadine,
We hope your February is winding down well! Please help us spread the word about GLSEN’s Rainbow Library, so even more young readers in New Mexico can access LGBTQ+ affirming books.
If you get someone else to request a Rainbow Library for their school, you will be entered in a raffle to win *bonus* books. Just tell them to head to RainbowLibrary.org to submit a request. Have the applicant list you as their referral when they apply for a set.
Any full-time school staff member at an elementary, middle, or high school is eligible to apply. That means school librarians, teachers, counselors, social workers, interventionists, and more are welcome to request a Rainbow Library.
Interested in more Rainbow Library books for your school? Be on the lookout for future emails from us about expansion sets - some recipients from previous school years will be eligible to request these this spring.
Are you part of any Facebook groups, email newsletters, or professional organizations with other New Mexico educators/librarians? Ask them to post or email about the Rainbow Library!
Here’s a blurb you can use when contacting others:
New Mexico K-12 School Staff: Request a FREE set of LGBTQ+ affirming K-12 books! GLSEN will be sending LGBTQ+ affirming text sets to over 2,200 schools in 30 states in spring 2023. There are four grade-range options: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, or 9-12. LGBTQ+ students at schools with an LGBTQ+ inclusive curriculum, which includes LGBTQ+ affirming books, have higher GPAs, are less likely to hear anti-LGBTQ remarks at school, and are less likely to report missing school due to feeling unsafe. Students also have a constitutional right to read these books. Founded in 2019, GLSEN’s Rainbow Library Program has been featured in School Library Journal, District Administration Magazine, and has won a commendation award from the American Association of School Librarians. Over 4,600 elementary, middle, and high schools have already received Rainbow Library sets, including in New Mexico. Rainbow Library books are selected by a committee of experienced educators, librarians, and students. These texts are award-winning, grade-aligned, and all received positive reviews from major literary journals. Resources are limited and will be prioritized in part on a first come, first served basis. Head to rainbowlibrary.org today!
Thank you again for participating in GLSEN’s Rainbow Library Program, and we hope you have a great weekend!
Best,
Michael Rady (he/him/his)
