Hello Youth Services folks,

We are in the position of suddenly needing to replace two AWE stations 
for the wider age range of 2-12 and have been quoted a cost of nearly 
$4000 per machine. Do any of you have alternatives for durable, 
maintenance-free, internet-free computers with games for children?

The stations came up with a blue screen of warnings which the AWE 
providers said meant there was a hard-drive problem or something 
similar. Have any of you had success in having AWE stations repaired?

We have Playaway tablets at our library. Since they're tablets they need to either be checked out to patrons or be monitored while in use so they don't walk away. I'm not sure if they're something that would fit in with what you're looking for.

Subject: Youth Services News awe station replacements


Hello Youth Services folks,

We are in the position of suddenly needing to replace two AWE stations for the wider age range of 2-12 and have been quoted a cost of nearly $4000 per machine. Do any of you have alternatives for durable, maintenance-free, internet-free computers with games for children?

The stations came up with a blue screen of warnings which the AWE providers said meant there was a hard-drive problem or something similar. Have any of you had success in having AWE stations repaired?

Hi Youth Services Folks!

We had our first two workshops this week and there were some great discussions!  Much thanks again to Estancia Public Library and Grants Public Library for hosting!  I look forward to seeing more folks at the Silver City, Roswell, and Santa Fe workshops.

Examine statistics related to discrimination within libraries/schools and risks that LGBTQIA+ youth face on a day-to-day basis in their communities, then discuss ways that library professionals can improve the general climate of libraries and summer reading programs through various strategies from simple word choice to organizational policy change. Outcomes: Participants will learn about implicit bias, the complexity and depth of gender, and explanation of acronyms.
