Colleagues, I would love to know who you are hiring to perform in person
for 2022, if your library is making those plans.
These are some of the performers we are looking at hiring and who are
interested in making bookings for shows next summer, in case you are
looking for performers as well. Most of these performers have indicated to
me they are able give discount pricing when they are able to book several
shows in the same area. I've included the most current contact information
I have. I'm sure many of you have heard of most if not all of these folks,
but in case there is someone planning summer reading for the first time,
here is my list so far:
- Aspen Black, storyteller/musician, ukulele lessons for up to 30
students, "Waves of Sound" program for teen/adult patrons (learning about
home audio recording) aspen at aspenblackcowgirl.com. Website:
http://www.aspenblackcowgirl.com/
- Mike McCartnery (as Inidian Bones), storyteller & puppeteer (702)
234-5428 <+17022345428>. There is more info on his website:
http://storyteller.net/indiana-bones/
- Judy Pancoast (singer) judy at judypancoast.com website:
https://www.judypancoast.com/
- Story Creations with Denise Gard and her trained border collies
storycreations at yahoo.com 719-229-5061 website:
https://www.storycreations.org/
- Will and Cecelia Parker (singers). will at willparkermusic.com or visit
their website: http://willparkermusic.com
Also, I have heard that the Wonders on Wheels Bus is planning to do their
folkloric music program around the state for libraries who book them. You
can speak to Jamie Brytowski at 505-476-1171 or email her at
jamie.brytowski at state.nm.us
I'm hoping to make contact with Meghan Casey at Rocky Mountain Puppets,
too, but I haven't yet. Her webiste is https://rockymountainpuppets.com/.
Our patrons really enjoy her shows.
