Happy Tuesday!! I have a couple of questions and am hoping I can get some resources and information from you all. I recently put a request for a part-time youth services staff member ( right now our library does not have a dedicated youth services program) and was told I would have to justify the need and hire. I am hoping that being able to show that youth services programming is vital and in most libraries the powers that be will realize it is not a unfounded request. So my first question is does your library have a youth services program and staff, if so how many staff does your youth services program have? Next, is there a dedicated position (stictly works youth programs) And lastly what are the general functions of your youth program staff? Now one last favor, can anyone point me in the direction of a resource that may outline library staff requirements, services and functions? Any help and information is greatly appreciated. Nadine E.
