Youth Services News Fall Programming

We just blocked off several computers and removed 2 of the 3 in the kid room. We’ve always had a ½ hour limit which we usually don’t enforce, but it’s been used a couple of times. 

We had to upgrade out Office Suite and ½ the computers don’t work ½ the time, so that’s been helpful.

Did you guys change your policies as far as library use/computer use?

We’re still planning after school reading. We’ve reduced the number of kids and will require masks etc.

We are also planning adult programs such as  author talks etc. For all programs we’ve reduced our usual numbers and are requiring masking etc. We also have the “may change owing to circumstances” caveat.

As we have to fundraised 50% of our operating budget every year, we’re also planning several of those, mostly off-site at local restaurants etc, as well as an in-library booksale. All protocols will be in place. 

We are still offering curbside pick up for those who want it. We aren’t planning on craft bags as we are offering in-person programs, but if there’s a demand, we’re set up to start.

We were planning to start our storytime mid-August, but have postponed due to the mask mandate. So, in the meantime we are doing Take and Makes and some passive programming.

We ( Espanola Public Library ) are planning for in-person activities for both kids and adults. But we also have a backup for that just in case moment. We will still provide Grab n Go Craft kits
