Youth Services News Summer Reading software and voucher FAQ

Good afternoon Youth Services staff!
I've been investigating various online reading software platforms (Wandoo Reader, Read Squared, Zoobean/Beanstack) for the possibility of a statewide contract for Summer Reading 2021. Before we get too far down this road, I'm curious if this is something you're all even interested in! There's a couple different options if we do move forward- one is a statewide site where patrons would choose from a drop down menu and enter their info that way. That means we would have to all be doing the same thing (reading minutes, chapters, books, etc.). The other option is individual sites for each library to pick what kind of reading challenge they want. And a reminder that SRP 21 vouchers are due THIS Friday, the 13th. I will be out that day and NOT checking email so if you have a problem and a question, it will not get answered and you will miss out on placing your order. There have been 2 main problems that I've been getting lots of emails about:

  *   Vouchers not covering the entire cost: this usually means you have unallowable items in your cart- vouchers will ONLY cover LSTA allowable items. Make sure your total says "$0.00" before hitting submit. If not, you will be charged and responsible for paying for or cancelling those items. Step 3 on the instructions tells you how to avoid this problem.
  *   Vouchers not valid: this usually is mistyping the voucher code, mistaking a lowercase L for the number one. I will take the blame for this, the font I use makes those two characters look identical. All of your vouchers start with nm2021(this is the number one)l(this is a lowercase L)sta and is then followed by a code unique to your library.
