Youth Services News What are you doing at your library?

So, we are not open to the public, but our library staff is still working
(a blessing to have a job to go to, a paycheck, and some social contact,
even though it is limited).

Here in youth services, I am shifting books around and re-doing some
sections so they make more sense. Also taking the time (finally) to do a
good, thorough weeding in non-fiction.

I'm also rethinking our new book display, which is currently an octagonal
thing that doesn't fit the space well. My director wants to use that
awkwardly-shaped display elsewhere in the library, and I have the go-ahead
to choose something that will show off our books better.

I'm also shopping online for some better shelves for our children's graphic
novels. Currently they are housed in some magazine displays, face-out.
That's nice to show the covers, but each shelf is only a few inches deep,
which means that everything is kind of stuffed in and looks crowded. I
could have a larger collection with shelves that are meant to hold graphic
novels instead of magazines!

I'm also monitoring our Facebook page and adding useful links (thanks for
the ones you shared, Deanne!). Did you all know that Audible is offering
free children's audiobooks right now, by the way?

I am curious to know if anyone else working, and if so, what projects you
are undertaking?
