Good morning Youth Services staff!
Just wanted to share a couple things. First, the artist for the 2024 program was announced this week and it is Juana Martinez-Neal! She was recognized with a Caldecott Honor in 2019 for Alma and How She Got her Name and the Sibert Medal this year for Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story. So excited to have her as part of the CSLP family!

We had 2 listening sessions on for the 2022 slogan, 2024 theme and upcoming board elections this week. I saw some familiar names in the session yesterday so thank you to those that signed up and attended. There's still time to sign up for the session next week, on Tuesday and Thursday at noon. And I encourage you if you do sign up to attend, to also sign up to speak! Deadline to sign up is Monday, 4 PM. It's been incredibly enlightening to hear the pros and cons of certain themes or slogans and how libraries can implement and program around them. These are decisions that will impact your libraries in the near future so please get involved! If you have any questions about slogans, themes, or the election please don't hesitate to reach out!
