Hi everyone,

Are you looking for some good professional development opportunities for yourself or for staff? The State Library recently purchased several prepaid registrations for Infopeople online courses. Current offerings are:

In order to take advantage of the prepaid courses, public library staff members will need to be registered by the Development Bureau. Requests for courses must be submitted via the Google form at:

           https://forms.gle/5aWmLFDroX3P79Sf7<https://clicktime.symantec.com/39irXxLVH9KK4RLMe1SJp27Vc?u=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2F5aWmLFDroX3P79Sf7>

Library staff must have their supervisor's permission to take a course. They must also agree to share what they learn with other library staff (via a Hitchhiker blog post, staff meeting, etc.) and must submit a copy of their certificate to the Development Bureau upon completion.

Infopeople also offers high-quality free webinars throughout the year. Check them out on the Infopeople page:

Good Afternoon,

Based on the information you provided I created a map of libraries offering wifi here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1r07OCa41n-SGHUVxrrLtFIdmC3ds2yoQ&usp=sharing.

Please take a moment to check the accuracy, and send me any additions, subtractions, or corrections, by the end of today if possible.

Thanks!
Eli

Subject: [EXT] [Nmlibs] Wifi availability at your library

Hi everyone,

This morning Eli, the State Librarian, shared a neat Google Map from the Georgia Public Library Service, their state library. On their website, the map shows the wifi status of all the libraries with categories such as, Wifi Available--No Password, No Wifi Available, Library Card Required, etc. You can see the page here:

https://georgialibraries.org/library-everywhere/#librarywifi<https://georgialibraries.org/library-everywhere/#librarywifi>

?
This is such a great service to the public and the libraries that we'd like to do something similar.

With that in mind, we'd like to ask everyone to visit the Google Doc below and update column C on Wifi Availability for your library. To make things easier and consistent, Eli's created a dropdown menu for that column. Please visit the spreadsheet and update it for your library as soon as you are able.

??We know some of you gave us wifi information a couple of weeks ago, but also that the information has changed for some of the libraries in the interim.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Peace and safety to you all,

Dale
