Youth Services News Summer Reading surveys

Good morning Youth Services staff!
I hope you're all well on this BEAUTIFUL summer morning (I love saying summer morning, it makes my soul happy)! I've gotten quite a few emails in the past week about surveys- both parent and librarian so I'm going to resend links just in case anyone else needs them. And a reminder that the librarian survey is mandatory if you want to receive a manual and funds for purchasing items for NEXT year's summer reading. The parent surveys will also get you additional funds if your library has the most returned in your population tier. Both surveys are of vital importance for the continued federal funding of the program. So, if you like having an actual program that has posters created by award-winning children's illustrators and not some stick figure holding what may be a book, may be a dog that I would create, then you need to get those surveys in! Deadline for both is Thursday, August 29th.

This year, you all are required to enter in the paper surveys to the website Survey Monkey instead of mailing them into me. I have plans to write up instructions- hopefully very soon, but in the meantime, it's VERY easy to do without the instructions and if you want to start inputting and have questions, just let me know!

Once you finish your program and fill out the librarian survey, you will get a copy of your survey emailed from Google so if you do not receive that email that means I also do not have your survey so you'll have to go back and resubmit. I'm feeling like a chicken with its head cut off these days but still want to give away 4 sets of 3 t-shirts to 4 libraries! These are sets that are random sizes and designs, I have no idea what they are, we just threw them all in a big pile, mixed them up and then made sets of 3 so... surprise! All you have to do is email me directly (not the whole listserv) your favorite space-themed joke by Wednesday (07/03) 9 am and I'll pick the 4 that make me literally LOL. I look forward to what you give me!
