<p style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif;margin:0px">2021 Senate Bill 377 provided $4.5M to tribal libraries through PED “to develop and staff culturally and linguistically relevant after-school student services and community-based summer programs”
through FY23. These funds have been transferred to the State Library and we can proceed with the grant agreement process to release these funds to you in the coming weeks. The grant will provide $200,000 to each tribal library <span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);display:inline !important">($300,00
for the Navajo Nation)</span> for those purposes and must be spent by June 30, 2023.</p>

<p style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif;margin:0px">We have obtained an emergency amendment to the NM Administrative Code for Special Grants to Public Libraries (NMAC 4.5.9), which will allow us to distribute the grant funds directly to you
without requiring a reimbursement process. You will be required to provide reports on how the funding was spent at the end of each year, and any unspent funds at the end of FY23 will need to be returned to the State Library. </p>
