in the attached that it is only open to organizations with an annual operating budget between $500k and $10M, so that will preclude many of you. However this might be suitable for some of our more ambitious and creative medium sized libraries. The deadline
is March 11, 2021, but note that they’ll start reviewing applications immediately so the sooner the better.

<p class="MsoNormal">I am reaching out from the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation (based in Chicago and Santa Fe) to share a brand-new funding opportunity for arts and culture organizations. Our
<a href="https://grants.thomafoundation.org/grants-for-nonprofit-organizations/digital-changemaker/">
Digital Changemaker Grant</a> program will fund small and midsize organizations in Arizona, Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Texas who are pursuing innovative digital projects. During the next calendar year, we will be awarding five grants of up to $100,000
each, with the possibility of renewal, to enable grantees to meet the increased demand for digital programming and outreach as we are propelled further into the digital realm, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

<p class="MsoNormal">For this new initiative, we aim to draw a truly diverse and unconventional array of applicants and proposed projects to meaningfully advance equity in arts and culture. For that reason, we’re including all cultural organizations, including
but not limited to museums, cultural centers, tribal organizations, local arts councils, and libraries. As long as you’re integrating digital approaches into your overall organizational strategy and using technology to better connect with your community, we
would like to hear from you. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In the initial Letter of Inquiry, we’ll ask you to tell us how digital strategies will further your organization’s mission and enhance your established core strengths. We also want to know how your big-picture thinking, ambitious collaborations,
and unconventional methodologies will transform the broader field of digital arts and culture. Although we welcome a wide array of projects, we do ask that the completed project involve the organization as a whole and include a public-facing element. Importantly,
we are committed to digital tactics deployed in service of equity: how might new technologies render your arts and culture offerings more accessible, relevant, and meaningful to an expanded audience?
