<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif;color:#222222">Some of you may have read the adult version, written by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, that came out in 2014. Because teachers asked her and the publisher
for one they could use in the classroom, Jean Mendoza and I were asked to do this adaptation. It took us 3 years. We're former teachers, parents of Native kids, and we both hold PhDs in Education. All of that, we brought to the adaptation. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

a couple of days. Not best sellers in kids or Native books, but best sellers overall. That's pretty cool. It doesn't mean that millions of copies were sold. It means it was hot for a few days. Today its rank is 2766. Still pretty good for a book of its kind!<o:p></o:p></span></p>
