I am reaching out to you because the Library of Congress Literacy Awards Program will begin accepting applications for the 2024 award year between January 8, 2024, and February 19, 2024. The purpose of the Literacy Awards Program is to raise awareness about the importance of improving literacy around the world as well as to draw attention to outstanding literacy programs. I have served on the Literacy Awards Advisory Board since the program started in 2013 and am the Chair of the International Prize Committee. I would dearly love to see recognition of Native language literacy programs.

Literacy Awards winners can receive up to $150,000 in cash awards (no stipulations) and public recognition by the Library of Congress for their outstanding literacy initiative and join a network over 180 previous award recipients from around the world.
