Subject: [NYLINE] Call for Participants--Socioeconomic Class Backgrounds of Librarians
To: <NYLINE at listserv.nysed.gov<mailto:NYLINE at listserv.nysed.gov>>

Greetings,

I am a professor and librarian in New York City, conducting a study (CUNY IRB #2023-0524-QC) on the socioeconomic class backgrounds of librarians in the United States.

Participants should be current or former librarians (in any role or setting) in the United States with an MLS or equivalent. The study involves an online questionnaire about your childhood (family) and personal (adult) experiences around indicators of socioeconomic class (education, work, housing, food availability).

This questionnaire is Phase 1 of a two-part study. The questionnaire is anonymous, although you have the option to include your contact information to be entered into a drawing for one of fifty (50) $15 Amazon.com e-gift cards. You will also have the option to decide if you would like to be included in Phase 2 of the study, an online one-on-one interview about your socioeconomic class experiences and their impact on your librarianship.

The consent document describing the study is available on the questionnaire website. Please use this link to complete the questionnaire: https://forms.office.com/r/SQKJwseVFs

If you have any questions about the questionnaire or the study, please contact me directly.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Vikki
