Good Morning,

We invite you to join IAIE for a collaborative in-person event on November 18, 2023, from 9:30 am -Noon. IAIE and the Native American Teacher Preparation Program (NATPP) will be hosting a lecture and sharing session at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. The objective of the event is to gather Native language educators, and preservice educator preparation students, to engage in a half-day event on the importance of Native language pedagogy.

Our lecture guests are Valencia Edgewater and Mary Alice Martinez. Valencia Edgewater is Pinon Unified School District No. 4’s Diné Studies Coordinator. Mary Alice Martinez currently serves as Taos Pueblo’s Tiwa Language Program Coordinator. Both guests are thoughtful and visionary leaders who have cultivated life-long learning experiences to sustain language and cultural pedagogy.

Teachers from the Diné Language Teacher Institute (DLTI) and the Native American Language Teacher Institute (NALTI) will also present their perspectives on Native language education. Guests will have an opportunity to share and learn from the DLTI and NALTI educators as they share their experiences and highlights of their work.

Limited space available* RSVP to this event here:
