My name is Aliza Werner and I am the Director of Professional Learning at Bookelicious<https://www.bookelicious.com/>. I'm reaching out to extend a personal invitation to you and your colleagues and community for an upcoming event featuring Indigenous author Traci Sorell (Cherokee) and her co-writer Charles Waters. Their recently published book MASCOT<https://www.bookelicious.com/book/93055/mascot/> is a middle grade novel-in-verse, and will be the featured book for our monthly Middle Grade Book Club series in November. The authors will be in attendance and it takes place via Zoom on Monday, Nov. 6th at 6:30p CST.

Registration<https://www.bookelicious.com/events/> for this event is completely FREE, but we encourage folks to support the authors by purchasing a copy of the book, if they can, for themselves, young readers, students, or classroom and school libraries. We also offer PD certificates for those looking to complete professional learning hours. Parents, caregivers, and community members are also welcome, though this is geared toward educators.

Middle Grade Book Club is a one-hour webinar. A recording is available to all registrants for 30 days post-event. Our moderator, super-librarian Jennifer LaGarde, dives into conversation with the authors, creates book-specific resources for educators, and is a genuine champion of kid lit creators.
