Good morning,

For those who were able to attend our field trip to CNM's FUSE Makerspace and Digital Lab awhile back, you might remember Brian Rashap, the director there. He sent me the email below asking if anyone might be interested in these ideas and possible project (or at least learning more about it). I plan to attend the session on July 20.

I am working with a group of folks on creating a Tech Hub focused on Digital Twins. Think, 3D simulations that mimic the physical world. Brian’s [Cassandra's husband] Department of Technology & Innovation [City of Albuquerque] team are partners as we hope to create a Digital Twin of a portion of ABQ to assist the smart cities effort.

As I was thinking this morning (while walking my dogs – my best thinking time of the day), it occurred to me that the Digital Twin concept could be used to create digital representations of indigenous items of historic significance and could also make a virtual museum that could be used to expose people to these treasures.

Two of my colleagues, Alice Loy and Robert Tercek, are hosting an informational webinar our efforts in a few weeks. It is intended for the “private sector” but from our previous conversations it seems like some of the tribal librarians might be of interest. (And, it doesn’t need to be restricted to only NM). If you think it would be of interest, could you share the below note from Alice with your network and see if some of them might be willing to join to hear more?

As a side note, Alice (https://www.linkedin.com/in/aliceloy/) has some great experience with the tribal communities. She is partnering with Kelly Holmes (https://www.linkedin.com/in/kholmes4/) around a native venture fund. I say this as I think both of them would love to see the Digital Twin capabilities be of use to the pueblos.
