National History Day Program Schools Senate Bill 270 by Senator Hemphill appropriates $200,000 to the Department of Cultural Affairs to support schools that participate in the National History Day Program.

Rural Libraries Endowment Fund. Senate Bill 214 appropriates $37 million to the fund. The bill will be heard in the Senate Indian, Rural and Cultural Affairs Committee on Tuesday morning, February 2nd. It is the fourth of five bills scheduled to be heard.

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE RURAL LIBRARIES ENDOWMENT FUND. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION. --Thirty-seven million dollars ($37,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the rural libraries endowment fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2024 and subsequent fiscal years for the purposes of the fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION FOR SAN MIGUEL COUNTY TO PROVIDE LIBRARY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES FOR RURAL AREAS OF THE COUNTY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION. --Forty-two thousand dollars ($42,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2024 for San Miguel county to provide library and community services in rural areas of the county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2024 shall revert to the general fund
