[Nmtriblibs] A Program for Support of the Homeless in your Communities

In the past, several vendors proposed programs to support your patrons by using Wi-Fi hotspots.  One of those vendors was T-Mobile; I know from the GO Bond reimbursement requests that several of you are still engaged in that project w/T-Mobile and find it worthwhile.

The T-Mobile representative, Chad Sundloff, has reached out to me w/a new program to support the homeless populations in your communities and asked me if I would forward the following information for your consideration.

I did ask Chad specific questions and/or received additional information:

  *   What would be the cost to the library?
     *   It would be $29 per month per line per user.
     *   Agreement of payment is for 18 months.
     *   Each phone costs the library $522.00.
  *   The $29 provides to the user: (a) Unlimited Usage, (b) Device Management, (c) Filtering, and (d) Support to the user.
  *   T-Mobile's Support Centers provide customer service for end users, not the library.  If a device is damaged, stolen, etc., it is the responsibility of the end user.  It's up to the library to decide whether they would provide a replacement.
  *   Chad suggested two Grants to consider for program funding - the ARPA grant or an ALA COVID relief fund grant.
  *   The phones' costs would be eligible for reimbursement from your 2020 GO Bond allocation according to the 4.5.8 NMAC definition of equipment.
