Summer Pathways Program

The Summer Pathways Program, facilitated by Cornell University's Migrations initiative, is a one-and-a-half-week, fully-funded summer program that exposes students to research questions and methods at the intersection of racism, dispossession, and migration, pioneering new, innovative, and creative ways of conducting research and making it accessible.The Program provides hands-on research training to first-generation students and students from underrepresented groups who are interested in studying migration and considering graduate school. Participants will attend this hybrid program (part online and part in-person at Cornell’s Ithaca, NY campus) from July 25th- August 4th. Support is provided to each participant as they gain research skills, higher education networks, and practical knowledge about the graduate application process and PhD life.

Deadline to apply is April 28, 2022

Who is Eligible to Apply:

  *   U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and non-U.S. citizens (including documented and undocumented individuals).
  *   Must be currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at a four or two-year college or have recently (within the past 5 years) graduated from an undergraduate program.
  *   All eligible participants will receive a $2,000 stipend upon successful program completion. There are some limitations to stipend payments to foreign nationals and undocumented individuals, please contact them regarding your ability to receive a stipend.
  *   For the four days of in-person programming on the Cornell campus, the Summer Pathways program will provide housing and dining, materials, and any program excursion costs.
