Hi everyone,
I'm pleased to introduce our new Tribal Libraries Program Coordinator, Cassandra Osterloh.
Cassandra has had over 25 years of experience in libraries, working in academic, school, and special libraries. She is coming to the NMSL after working as the Librarian at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque. Cassandra worked at the NMSL as Continuing Education Coordinator - many, many years ago - and is very happy to be returning to work as part of the NMSL Development Bureau. She is thrilled to be working with the tribal librarians around the state.
Cassandra is a registered member of the Cherokee Nation. Her maternal grandfather was born and raised on the Cherokee Nation in Salina, Oklahoma. World War 2 and subsequent railroad and construction work took him away from Oklahoma, yet the family remains connected to the Cherokee Nation in many ways. Cassandra is active with the New Mexico Library Association, and in her "free time", she coaches and officiates youth track and field and cross country.
Regards,
Dale
