This Friday, November 20, 2020, is Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Transgender Day of Remembrance is observed annually on November 20 to honor and celebrate the lives of transgender people who were killed as a result of transphobic violence. This includes the ongoing systemic and state-sanctioned violence of denial of access to basic needs like healthcare, food, housing, and income.

Equality New Mexico believes we should honor our Trans siblings and loved ones every day of the year, all the time.  But it is especially important to have a single day dedicated to the memories of those we have lost, and to recommit to our work to protect and liberate our trans loved ones.

We just want to take a moment to share with you all of these resources, events and artwork for this week so you can plan in advance to “attend” the event that speaks best to you. Please share these events widely.
