We're gauging interest in this grant for our tribal libraries by asking them to fill out this short survey. There's two ways we could distribute this grant if we get it: books for your library collection or books to give out to children to keep at home. We need your input before we decide which way to go! Please fill it out at: https://goo.gl/forms/7o9DaUb2PCIJmF4K2. Thank you!! The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) houses vast amounts of material related to Native American cultures, histories, and individuals. These holdings include historical documents, photographs, audio recordings, and other materials created by Federal agencies, Federal courts, and the U.S. Congress from the eighteenth century to the present. Given the volume of material related to Native Americans in NARA's holdings, locating and accessing particular records can seem daunting. However, NARA has multiple tools available to help researchers identify and access records online. Rose Buchanan and Adam Berenbak, Archivists with the National Archives and Records Administration, will provide an overview of these tools and discuss strategies for searching for Native American records at NARA. All that are interested are invited. Please note that the DOI Library is located in Room 1151 of the Stewart Lee Udall Department of the Interior Building, just off the C Street entrance lobby. The Stewart Lee Udall Department of the Interior Building is located at 1849 C Street, NW in Washington, DC. Space for the program in the Library is limited so please go to the following link to register: https://docs.google.com/a/nbc.gov/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dDVHQUhwT3h4aVJURm14VVV0amR6SlE6MA#gid=0 If the link above does not work at your location, you may also register by using our contact form at https://www.doi.gov/library/interior-library-contact-form. We do prefer that you attend in person here at the DOI Library if you can. When you register, please indicate the name of the program you wish to attend and if you need information about webinar access. You may contact the Library by phone at (202) 208-5815 or by e-mail at library at ios.doi.gov for more information about this program or if you have trouble registering using the link above.
