Tribal Librarians,
Patricia pointed out to me (and I was thinking of this fact as I wrote the last email), Native Americans did not receive the right to vote in Federal Elections until 1924.  If you would rather wait and mark this occasion, then I am 100% in support of your decision.  Just wanted to provide you with some options. If you’d rather mark the anniversary of the Native Vote in 2024, that is fine with me (and very understandable). Here is a link to the fact that Natives were not allowed to vote in New Mexico until 1962 (I thought that it was 1948), but check this out: https://www.history.com/news/native-american-voting-rights-citizenship.  Anyway, it is up to you all.  Please share with the group whatever you decide to do in the way of marking the right to vote anniversaries.  Unless you decide to wait until 2062 in which case we will all be gone, or I will be out of here, anyway ☹.
